Here are a couple more environments I came up with. I'm totally having fun with these. Environments don't come as naturally to me as characters and creatures do (and when I say "naturally" I mean "fooling my clients into thinking that I know what I'm doing"), but I do have just as much fun coming up with them. I just need to put in the mileage. It's tough to find the time though. More to come...

Hi Andy :)
I'm not sure but it looks like you started off greyscaled first... When I try to do that it comes out pretty dreadful lol! These are fantastic though, the colour tones really set a solid mood especially in the second one. I hope you get more time to do more environments they're looking really, really good!
Gavin
Outstanding. I think I have the same problem as Gavin. Even when using Multiply and Color Dodge.
I love the details in these and the lighting is amazing. Great mood too.
these are really cool andy.. it's like you took superman's ice cave and industrialized it :)
Gavin- thanks for the comments! No, I didn't do these b/w first. I went straight to color. But I do see why you would think so. I toned down the colors on both of these as I wanted a more muted color scheme.
Matthew- Thank you!
Kinman- Thanks Kinman! Yeah, it's like Bizarro's Fortress of Solitude or something. No, it's more of a secret mystical city within another secret structure made underneath a city of rubble. I hope all's well with you!
Andy, blowing it up! Man you been working hard! Nice work, great feeling of depth.
ATTENTION...If your spending all this time on these concepts...then is this telling me that GOD OF WAR III is not going to look as good?...GET TO WORK!!!! it's me whos spending my hard earned 60 dollars for quality

Hi andy!
Just wanted to say I saw your piece for God of War II on the March issue of GameInformer magazine. Didn't see your usual signature on it, but I just KNOW it's yours! Kratos fighting monsters on Gaia's(?) shoulder, awesome, EPIC!
