GOD OF WAR 2- IN STORES NOW!!!

Here's yet another photo (Sorry- I'll post more drawings eventually, I promise). The one on the left is the game demo disc that came out weeks before the release of the final product. My art was used for the demo disc cover. It's always fun to see your work in print and especially on a cover (do you call that a "cover" or just "box art"?). The final game cover art on the right is not my artwork. It was done by the talented guys at Petrol Advertising.

If you get the chance, get the game. It's really fun! It really showcases the talent of every person that put their blood and sweat into the making of this game for the past 2 years or so. Plus, it comes with 2 discs- the second one has a very professionally made, very thorough documentary on the making of God of War 2. You'll get to see me make a fool of myself here and there in different scenes (I hate talking in front of a camera). But it's cool nonetheless. Check it out!

That is nice, the game includes a disc with the documentary of the making of "God of War 2".

It is also nice to see how the making of the game looks like.

Hey Andy,
Its great finding your blog. Your art is really amazing. Are most of your God of War images done in Photoshop? Are you mainly drawing and then painting on top? I picked up this game this week along with the premier strategy guide that comes with the art book. Its a great game and you and your art team did some amazing work.

Yeah, you gotta check out the documentary disc, it's pretty cool. Hey Sam! Long time no see! Nice of you to drop by. Yeah, I'm mainly a Photoshop guy now (and Painter). I rarely do the draw, scan, and paint method I used to do back in my comic days. It's just faster and more efficient for what I do now. Hey, email me at my andyparkart@aol.com address. I don't have your email address to contact you...

Fantastic God of War work. Some of the best and most consistent concept art I've ever seen for a video game.

I'm playing the game now and I've been in awe of the visuals on the PS2. Seriously. Amazed and wondering how the team pulled it off. Now I've seen your art and it all makes sense. There's a real image with every idea in your concepts. I can see and feel it. I could understand (if I were a 3D guy on the team) really having a solid direction based off your art.

I'm so happy to see game studios understand the importance of a concept phase in the production process. I worked in games for a little while and I often pleaded for time to do drawings and concepts before the team really got going. So hard to negotiate for that time.

Anyway, it's great to see. If you're still in touch, please relay the message to the team. I'm a gamer and and an artist/animator so it's all very important to me :) I think God of War 2 should lead by example and I believe the team has raised the bar even for the most talented Next Gen teams.

Thanks!

-bob.
